Cattle transport trailer rolls over northwest of Sexsmith

A double-decker cattle transport trailer rolled over Thursday afternoon on Range Road 74 north of Highway 59.

County fire departments in La Glace and Clairmont responded to the incident at around 1 pm Thursday, along with the Sexsmith fire department, Grande Prairie RCMP, and County Enforcement Services.

Special large animal rescue equipment stationed out of the La Glace fire hall was used to safely and successfully remove 61 of the 70 head of cattle that were in the trailer at the time of the rollover.

The driver of the trailer unit was not injured.
