Details of 12th annual Chair Extraordinaire fundraiser announced

The Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention has announced details of their 12th annual Chair Extraordinaire fundraiser.

Administrative Director Jenn Vos says this year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 1st at a new location – the TARA Centre at Evergreen Park.

“We are super thankful to be able to have worked with the staff at the Jackpot Grill and Events Centre. They have been truly helpful in making our previous events successful.. We have just unfortunately outgrown their space.”

“We look forward to working with the staff at the TARA Centre. “

The doors open at 5:30 that evening, with dinner to start at 6:30, followed by raffles and auctions.

This year, there will be a total of 10 chairs up for auction, and Vos says each one carries a unique story with it.

Vos adds the theme for this year’s event is “Together Again”.

“The last couple of years have been hard, they have been hard for everybody. To not have that in-person connection, those conversations. So it is just to bring everybody – community, friends, family – together again and to keep those conversations going.”

Vos says proceeds from this year’s event will go towards programming offered through the Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention.

“Connect, Tough Enough, Men’s Support, Men’s mental health and youth mental health programming.”
