Boil Water Advisory issued for Village of Rycroft

Alberta Health Services says a boil water advisory is in place for the village of Rycroft and anyone that is connected to the village’s water system.

Late Wednesday afternoon, the community’s water system was shut off to allow for repairs after a water leak was discovered in the ground near the front door of the water treatment plant.

The work was completed within a few hours, and the water was turned back on and lines were flushed that evening.

AHS says residents should boil their water before use, adding there still may be some discolouration of the water.

The add the boil water advisory will remain in place until more testing is completed and the water is determined to have been restored to potable status.
