More road work begins in city’s west end

Work begins Friday on another intersection in the city’s west end.

This time, it is the intersection of 84th avenue and 108th street that will be the focus of attention.

The project includes adding a third northbound lane north of 84th avenue, and turning the westbound to northbound right turn lane into a free flow lane.

Crews are expected to wrap up the work by mid-October.

Until then, northbound traffic in the area will be reduced to one lane, while the westbound to northbound right turn lane will be closed while work is being done.

Detours will be in place, and motorists are reminded to watch for workers and to obey all signage in the construction area.

Earlier in the week, milling work began at the intersection of 108th street and 100th avenue.
