Heritage Discovery Centre has now closed
The City said goodbye to the Heritage Discovery Centre in Centre 2000.
The city says in a release that centre was an engaging interpretive museum that has been a place for many GP residents to learn about the region and travel back in time as far as the Ice Age.
It was even home to a life-sized animatronic dinosaur named Piper, who represented the Pachyrhinosaurus species that was discovered in the Peace region.
Even with this Discovery Centre closing, the City of Grande Prairie will continue to offer other cultural and heritage buildings for people to enjoy, including the Grande Prairie Museum, Heritage Village and Reverend Forbes Homestead.
