Tenders now being accepted for phase 2 of Highway 40 twinning project

The province is now accepting tenders for the next phase of the Highway 40 twinning project south of Grande Prairie.

Interested parties have until November 7th to submit a tender for the twinning of the 10 km of highway leading up to Township Road 700.

Other components of phase two include a roundabout at Township road 700, a concrete girder bridge over the Weyerhaeuser Haul road, slide remediation, bridge culverts, ,and a median vehicle inspection station.

Once started, phase two of the twinning project is expected to take about two years to complete.

Crews are well underway with phase one, which includes twinning 19 km of the highway from the city to the Norbord plant, which includes the construction of a second bridge over the Wapiti river.
