City of Grande Prairie to begin Bear Creek trail repairs and replacement

Oct 13, 2022 | 11:01 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is set to begin repairing a section of trails along the west side of Bear Creek north of 68 Avenue starting tomorrow.

This is being done to repair them before being repaved in the spring of the new year.

Sections of the asphalt trail will be removed to perform slope repair work and then be restored with an acceptable amount of gravel for the winter months.

Trail closure signs have been placed on-site and trail users can detour by using the trail between 102 Street and Kateri Drive.

Roads will also be affected by these repairs, with 68 Avenue westbound, having random lane restrictions.

Construction is expected to last till early December.

The City said in a release they thank everyone for their patience and cooperation during construction.
