Municipal election day in B.C. Saturday

People across British Columbia will be voting in municipal elections Saturday.

In Dawson Creek, Darcy Dober and Shaely Wilbur are running to replace Dale Bumstead as mayor. Bumstead is not seeking re-election. There are 11 candidates for six spots on council.

There are three candidates for mayor in Fort St. John, They include Lillia Hansen, Steven Labossiere, and Shannon Stange. Incumbent Lori Ackerman is not running again. Ten people are running for council.

Four people, Ed Boyer, incumbent Lorraine Michetti, William Plowright, and Danielle Veach are running for mayor in Pouce Coupe. Seven people are running for four spots on council.

The Peace River Regional District has six candidates for four electoral area director positions.

There are two candidates for mayor in Chetwynd, incumbent Allen Courtoreille and Mike Warrington. Six council spots have been filled by acclamation.

Dave Heiberg is back in as mayor in Hudson’s Hope after Reg Knox withdrew from the race. Twelve people are running for the six spots on council.

Peggy Alexander and Brent Taillefer are running for mayor in Taylor. There are five candidates for four council spots.

Three candidates, Rick Consalvi, Darryl Krakowa, and Don McPherson are running to replace Keith Bertrand as mayor of Tumbler Ridge. There are seven candidates for the six seats on council.
