Grande Prairie RCMP arrests male, one still to be located and identified

On October 14 at 1:00 a.m., the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit located a suspicious vehicle in the Copperwood neighborhood in Grande Prairie.

Mounties attempted a traffic stop, however, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.

Shortly after they located the vehicle again in the area of 102 Street and 128 Avenue with two males walking away from it, when the males saw police and began to flee on foot.

One was apprehended after a short foot chase and had a loaded rifle in close proximity.

The truck the two males were driving had been stolen from Spirit River on October 10.

18-year-old Dylan Roshuk-Finch of Grande Prairie has been charged with five offenses:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Flight from police
  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm while prohibited

After his judicial interim release hearing, he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on October 17.

The second male has yet to be located and is described as:

  • 5’10”
  • Slender build
  • Wearing a black hoodie and carrying a backpack
