Two Peace Country MLAs included in Danielle Smith’s first cabinet.

The new Alberta cabinet has been named by Premier Danielle Smith.

GP-Wapiti MLA Travis Toews has been re-named President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Finance. Toews had resigned from the post to run in the leadership race, where he finished second to Smith.

Central Peace-Notley MLA Todd Loewen takes over as minister of the newly formed Forestry, Parks, and Tourism department. Loewen also ran for the UCP leadership.

Slave Lake MLA Pat Rehn has been named chair of the Building Communities Cabinet Policy Committee.

The complete list of new ministers and other appointments is as follows:

  • Deputy Premier and Minister of Skilled Trades and Professions – Kaycee Madu
  • Deputy Premier and Minister of Infrastructure – Nathan Neudorf
  • President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance – Travis Toews
