Peace Wapiti Skating Club hosting its annual True North Strong 2.0 meet

The Peace Wapiti Skating Club is hosting its annual True North Strong 2.0 meet at the Coca-Cola Centre on Saturday, October 29.

Which will double as an Arctic Winter Games Qualifier for Team Alberta North.

Speed skaters from Grande Prairie, Peace River, Dawson Creek, Fort St John, Hay River, and Yellowknife are all participating in the meet on Saturday special guests Olympic Speed Skater Keri Morrison and World Champion Speed Skater Liam McFarlane.

The special guests ( Keri Morrison and Liam McFarlane ) will also be hosting a mental performance session on Friday, October 28, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. along with dry-land training and on-ice sessions Sunday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Peace Wapiti Speed Skating Club would like residents to know about try-it speed skating sessions, taking place at the Coca-Cola Centre every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to watch the True North Strong meet is free and runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, at the Coca-Cola Centre.
