Grande Prairie barrel racer competing at the Canadian Finals Rodeo this week

The Canadian Finals Rodeo starts Wednesday night in Red Deer.

Grande Prairie barrel racer Jennifer Neudorf will be competing at her first CFR after placing ninth in the Canadian standings.

“My goal is I’m really hoping to do good at the CFR and, hopefully, place in the top four by the end of it because top four gets invited to (the) Calgary Stampede.”

Neudorf has just completed her second season on the pro rodeo circuit.

“I’m so excited. I think it’s a really good opportunity. It’s so cool and it’s for sure worth all the hours driving and going to all the rodeos.”

BC Peace cowboys Stephen Culling in steer wrestling, Jake Watson in saddle broncs, and Jacob Gardner in bull riding will also be there. So will Fox Creek bronc rider Hunter Sawley.

CFR 48 will run through Sunday in Red Deer.
