MD of Greenview Council appoints this year’s Reeve

Nov 9, 2022 | 12:39 PM

The MD of Greenview says Tyler Olsen has been re-elected as the Reeve.

He was elected at the annual organizational meeting October 25.

Olsen has been a resident of Grande Cache for 17 years and now is the Captain of the Grande Cache fire station.

He will serve his second term as Reeve.

Olsen said in a news release, “Together, we plan to continue the good work undertaken in the past year to move forward with continued improvements to Greenview’s economic development, infrastructure, roads, and investment in our communities.”

Ward 8 Councillor Bill Smith will be the Deputy Reeve.

“I have seen many changes in my short political time. It is very rewarding, and I’m committed to continuing to work with my fellow Councillors and administration to provide the high levels of service Greenview residents expect and deserve,” said Smith in the same release.

Smith is in his third term as councillor for the Grovedale area. He is a multi-generational rancher in that area, having a lot of ties to the community.

The MD holds an organizational meeting every year to choose a reeve and make multiple committee appointments, which can be seen by clicking here.
