Residential snow clearing begins Wednesday in Grande Prairie

The first round of residential snow clearing in the City of Grande Prairie starts Wednesday.

Clearing of snow and ice from city neighbourhoods will take place over a two-week cycle when the city determines that snow accumulations make it necessary.

Contracted crews will be working from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

Snow clearing will take place Wednesday in Avondale, College Park, and Swanavon.

This is how the two-week cycle looks for residential snow clearing in Grande Prairie

Mondays:

Week A – Hillside, Montrose, Summit, VLA/Montrose

Week B – Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, Ivy Lake Estates

Tuesdays:

Week A – Patterson, South Patterson, Southview, Signature Falls

Week B – Country Club Estates, Countryside North and South, Country Club West.

Wednesdays:

Week A – Avondale, College Park, Swanavon

Week B – Cobblestone, Fieldbrook, Highland Park, Riverstone, Smith

Thursdays:

Week A – Kensington, Mission Heights, O’Brien Lake, Stone Ridge

Week B – Pinnacle Ridge, Westpointe

Fridays:

Week A – Arbour Hills, Copperwood, Crystal Ridge, Gateway, Northridge, Royal Oaks, Westgate

Week B – Lakeland, Crystal Lake Estates

The city also reminds residents that they continue to plow, sand, and salt the priority road network.

As well, a parking ban on all permanent snow routes is still in place every Monday to Friday from 7 am to 9 pm.
