RCMP advising drivers of a road closure due to a fire

UPDATE: Range Road 74 is now open to traffic.

UPDATE: Range Road 74 between Highway 43 and Township Road 720 remains temporarily closed to accommodate first responders.

County Fire said in a news release, at approximately 9:00 a.m. this morning (Monday, November 14) crews from the County Regional Fire Service Clairmont and Dunes stations, Sexsmith, and Wembley Fire departments all responded to multiple vehicle fires.

Upon arrival, crews found the fire spread to the adjacent commercial property.

Crews still remain on the scene, as the County Fire Marshall investigates the cause.

Grande Prairie RCMP are on the scene of a structure fire and want to advise the public of a corresponding road closure.

Range Road 74 between Highway 43 and Township Road 720 is closed.

No traffic will be able to get through this area while fire crews attempt to put out the blaze.

An update will be provided when available, but the road is expected to stay closed until between 12:30 and 1:30 this afternoon (Monday).
