Grande Cache RCMP seize stolen firearms, drugs, and cash

A pair of drug and gun seizures in Grande Cache has led to a pair of arrests.

On November 10, RCMP executed a warrant at a home in Grande Cache. As a result of the search they turned up:

  • A firearm
  • 214 grams of cocaine
  • 122 grams of methamphetamine
  • $13,900 in Canadian currency

On November 11, the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit conducted a traffic stop on a known repeat offender with outstanding warrants along Highway 40, just outside of Grande Cache.

Mounties searched the vehicle following an arrest and found:

  • 2 stolen firearms, including a loaded handgun
  • 47 grams of cocaine
  • 12 grams of methamphetamine

As a result of the searches, RCMP have charged a 31-year-old resident of Grande Cache, Brandon Emerson Elliot Rose with multiple charges including:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Weapons offenses (x8)
  • Possession of stolen firearm (x2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (x3)

Rose was taken before a justice and has been remanded into custody. He was due back in court on November 15, 2022.

Additionally, RCMP charged 27-year-old Grande Cache resident, Martina Rose with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime

She was released from custody and has a court date set for January 5, 2023.

Constable Mario Gauvin of the RCMP’s Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit said in a news release; “This arrest and seizure demonstrates the effective use of crime reduction tactics focusing police resources on those individuals that cause the most crime.”
