Grande Prairie Museum invites public to view locally sourced exhibit

A new exhibit will be launching on December 3 at the Grande Prairie Museum.

The exhibit is based on Sharon Krushel’s book ‘Mother Earth; Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country,’ and shares the same name.

The exhibit features 82 photos and aerial shots of northern lights, flora, and fauna species along with landscapes.

The exhibit launch on December 3 will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and feature fun facts about local creatures, a book signing, storytelling, and live music featuring McInnes from McKindred.

A 30-minute presentation from Krushel about the creation of the book with songs will begin at 2 p.m.

All guests attending the exhibit launch will receive a free 5×7 print of a Lynx by Colin Ruston, a photographer from Wembley, and a special price for the book; ‘Mother Earth; Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country’ with $10 off.

The exhibit will be displayed until January 31 and is free to attend.

The Grande Prairie Museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
