Nov 30, 2022 | 4:22 PM

LAKE LOUISE, Alta. — Austria’s Mirjam Puchner posted the fastest time Wednesday in the second downhill training run ahead of a women’s World Cup alpine skiing stop this week at Lake Louise, Alta.

Puchner finished in one minute 31.84 seconds. She was followed by Italy’s Sofia Goggia in 1:32.30 and Austria’s Elisabeth Reisinger in 1:32.41.

Marie-Michèle Gagnon of Lac-Etchemin, Que., was the top Canadian in 13th with a time of 1:33.28.

Austria’s Nina Ortlieb was the fastest in Tuesday’s opening training run.

Another training run is scheduled Thursday, followed by downhill races Friday and Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.

The women are hoping for good weather this week after heavy snow postponed the men’s downhill race last week.

The downhill was moved from Friday to Saturday and held in place of a super-G race that was initially scheduled. A second super-G race went as planned on Sunday.
