Six Grande Prairie businesses receive Best Bar None awards and accreditation

Celebrations were held on Tuesday night in Grande Prairie for businesses participating in the Best Bar None program.

Eight local hospitality establishments gained their accreditation in the program for demonstrating responsible liquor service and patron.staff safety.

Four businesses won awards in the following categories:

• BAR – The Lion’s Den Pub
• CAMPUS BAR – Howlers Lounge – Northwestern Polytechnic
• CASINO – Great Northern Casino
• RESTAURANT & BAR – Boston Pizza Lounge – Westgate Drive

The general public got to have their say and vote in the Best Bar None People’s Choice Awards between November 4-14: Diamonds Gentlemen’s Club won Best Business, Staff, and, Community Involvement categories and the Crown and Anchor Pub won Best Food.

Best Bar None has been in the city for nine years now and over 180 establishments are accredited through the Best Bar None program in Alberta, in five cities – Grande Prairie, Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Banff.

The program is in the city thanks to partnerships between the AGLC, City of Grande Prairie, Grande Prairie Fire Department, and the Grande Prairie RCMP detachment.
