A new exhibit at AGGP is supporting Alberta artists

Dec 10, 2022 | 7:00 AM

The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie has opened a new exhibit as a new avenue for local artists to showcase their works.

The TREX WALL will have its first exhibit starting on December 15. It will be called Winter Wonderland and will feature four Peace Region artists: Sharon Krushel, Amanda Monette, Ron Marceau, and Paul Lavoie.

The wall is 15 feet and features rail hanging systems to allow for more creative pieces, not just regular 2D murals, and will be a part of the art gallery for the next four years.

As this project is designed to showcase Alberta artists, the gallery is looking for some solo or group exhibitions to apply for the use of the space, to showcase their talents to the community.

To apply:

  • Email Jamie-Lee@aggp.ca a proposal, with the following subject line “TREX WALL Exhibition Proposal” and information.
  • Briefly describe your exhibit idea and if you are interested in working with the Art Gallery on developing a workshop or educational aspect. (750 words max)
  • Provide an Artist bio/statements
  • Ten to twenty digital images (include Title, Medium, Size, and Year)
