AHS launching online wait times at GPRH

A new program will allow residents to check wait times before they arrive at the emergency department in the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

However, this is feature is only available at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, as it is the only hospital in the North Zone with this program. More will be added as infrastructure and information comes available.

The new wait times program can be found online by clicking here, or you can access the wait times through the Alberta Health Services app on Android or iPhone.

AHS cautions that these wait times are only estimates. They are calculated through software that uses current data from the facility and compares it to the number of patients in the Emergency Department and how sick or hurt they are.

These calculations don’t represent the total time a patient may spend at a hospital or account for seriously ill patients, who will be seen immediately, and patients with non-urgent concerns, who may wait a little longer.
