City, CUPE reach contract agreement
What city hall officials in Grande Prairie describe as successful negotiations have led to a new three-year contract agreement with some unionized workers.
This covers Local 787 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
The deal calls for a retroactive pay raise of 1.7 per cent for this year and 1.9 per cent hikes in each of the next two years.
“City Council continues to take steps to reduce the tax impact on residents while fostering a high quality of life in our community. Successful CUPE negotiations are another way Council supports City administration as they deliver high-quality services, and we are grateful for the work of all City staff who help bring Council’s vision to life,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton in a news release from the city.
