The Grande Prairie Storm played two road games this past weekend…
On Friday in Camrose, the Storm beat the Kodiaks 4-2.
On Saturday, GP fell short to Blackfalds 2-1.
The Storm continues their road trip tonight in Drumheller with puck drop at 7 p.m., they also head to Olds on Tuesday to play the Grizzlies before a two-week holiday break.
Ten games were played this past weekend.
On Friday:
The Fairview Flyers beat the Sexsmith Vipers 6-4, and the Fort St John Huskies held off the North Peace Navigators for a 3-2 win.
On Saturday:
Three games went into overtime:
The County of Grande Prairie Wheat Kings topped the Flyers 7-4 Saturday as well.
And on Sunday:
The Huskies blew out the Navs 8-1, the Lumber Barons won 3-2 in OT against the Blades and the Wheat Kings lost to the Kodiaks 3-2.
There are only two games this week, Beaverlodge hosting the Wheat Kings Tuesday and the Flyers hosting the Navs Wednesday before the league takes a week break for the holidays.
The Grande Prairie Athletics of the North Peace Hockey League are on a heater following two wins this past weekend.
On Friday night, they hosted the shorthanded Manning Comets roster and won with a score of 14-4.
The A’s hit the road Saturday night to Fort St John, where they extended their win streak to seven, shutting out the Flyers 6-0.
The Athletics sit with an 8-2 record, trailing the Dawson Creek Canucks by only 3 points in the overall standings, with one game in hand.
Next game for the A’s is Thursday as they travel to Valleyview for their final game before the Christmas break against the Jets.
