Alberta landowner watching break and enter leads RCMP to suspect
ROLLING HILLS, AB – Real-time updates on a break and enter north of Rolling Hills, Alta. helped Brooks RCMP make a quick arrest last week.
Police say that on Dec. 30 at about 2:45 a.m., a rural landowner watched a break and enter in progress on their property. The landowner called RCMP and provided the updates while officers were en route. Mounties were able to locate the lone suspect, who was quickly stopped and placed under arrest.
Peter Coyne, 24, of Rolling Hills, is charged with mischief under $5,000, theft, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of an undertaking.
Police say also had an outstanding warrant from Grande Prairie, and was found to be operating a motor vehicle while his licence was suspended. He received immediate roadside sanctions for driving while unauthorized and his vehicle was seized for 30 days.
