Another closure for Beaverlodge ED

Alberta Health Services says the emergency department at the Beaverlodge Regional Hospital is closed until 8 a.m. Saturday, January 21, due to a shortage of nurses.

Nurses are still on site in acute care.

People with an emergency are still asked to call 911.

AHS says the nurse shortage was unexpected and they were unable to find temporary coverage.

AHS adds the emergency department in Beaverlodge may re-open sooner than planned if coverage can be found.
