Team Skrlik captures crown at Alberta Scotties
Nampa-raised sisters Kayla and Ashton Skrlik dominated the competition at the Alberta women’s provincial curling championship this past week.
Team Skrlik won all seven of their round robin games, granting them a bye to the championship game where they played Team Scheidegger, and defeated them with a score of 9-8.
The win came thanks to a double take out on skip Kayla’s last shot to score two.
Former Team Skrlik third Selena Sturmay who now skips her own rink with former Grande Prairie curler Heather Nedohin as third made it to the semi-finals against Scheidegger on Saturday night, but lost 11-3.
