Last call for local sports award nominations

The annual North West Alberta Sports Excellence awards will be handed out on March 3rd, and Tuesday (January 31) is the deadline to nominate a local athlete or sport official for one of the 12 awards up for grabs.

Six of the awards recognize community leaders in sport, including outstanding official, development coach of the year, sport builder, community sportsmanship, unsung hero, and sport event of the year.

There are also six high performance awards including senior and junior male and female athletes of the year, coach of the year, and team of the year.

Nominees must reside in the Alberta Peace in order to be considered for these awards.
