RCMP report shows reduced crime in Coordinated Care Campus area over last three years

The City’s Public and Protective Services Committee has received a report from the RCMP, tracking crime data in the areas surrounding the Coordinated Care Campus.
Based on police calls and common offenses, the report showed the number of police files from the Coordinated Care Campus site itself has decreased from 60 in 2019 to just 17 last year – one year after the first tenants moved into the facility.
For the surrounding Northridge neighborhood, the number of calls for service was down approximately 35 per cent when compared to 2019 numbers.
Even though some businesses in the Northridge area did see more police files generated last year when compared to 2021 figures, the report showed the number of calls for service was on par with 2019 numbers.
