New traffic lights go active this week

Feb 7, 2023 | 3:47 PM

New traffic lights are set to be activated at three west-end Grande Prairie intersections later this week.

First up is 108 Street and 97 Avenue, which will see it’s new lights become active on Thursday.

That will be followed by the intersection of 108 Street and 100 Avenue on Friday, and then 100 Avenue and 112 Street on Sunday.

The work will be done between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. and will involve the old traffic lights being turned off so that the new lights can be connected.

In all instances, each intersection will go to temporary traffic controls, such as 4-way stops, while the transfer from old to new traffic lights takes place.

The city reminds motorists to be aware of these traffic control changes at those intersections and to drive accordingly.
