WestJet to pull service from Dawson Creek

The City of Dawson Creek has announced that WestJet will be pulling its service from the Dawson Creek Regional Airport as of March 1.
Although disappointed by the announcement, Dawson Creek Mayor Darcy Dober thanked WestJet for their efforts in trying to make air service to the community work, especially during the recent tough times that the industry has seen.
In a news release, the city said it remains committed to keeping the airport as a fully-equipped facility for both commercial and private partners.
Medical Air Service Worldwide air ambulances currently use the facility for medivac purposes, and the city says it is discussing how to best develop new services and usage agreements.
