Feb 13, 2023 | 1:40 PM

The County of Grande Prairie is hosting a Winter Family Frostival later this month, at the Pipestone Creek Campground.

The event will take place on Sunday, February 26, starting at 1:00 p.m.

Reeve of the County, Bob Marshall said in a news release: “Any time that we can provide outdoor activities that are enjoyable for residents and families and accessible, we are happy to be creating a safe, healthy, and vibrant County.”

The event is free to attend with a number of events for residents to take part in, “We’re planning a variety of activities for the afternoon, including a bonfire, sleigh rides, tobogganing, and snow sculpting and painting,’ said the Reeve.

There will also be snowshoeing walks for beginners at 1:00 p.m., followed by intermediate-level snowshoeing at 2:00 p.m.

Even though the event is free, residents who plan on attending are asked to reserve their spots through the Winter Family Frostival Eventbrite page, which you access by clicking here.

As this event is weather dependent, it will be canceled if the weather is colder than – 20.
