County of Grande Prairie council highlights

County of Grande Prairie council met earlier this week.

Among the highlights – council approved a $50,000 gift-in-kind to the 2024 Alberta Winter Games, which are set to be held in the Grande Prairie region. The gift-in-kind consists of services such as access to County facilities and employee time. Council also earmarked $100,000 in funding from both the 2023 and 2024 budgets towards those games, with any costs related to County facility improvements needed for the Winter games to come from that funding.

County council also approved road surfacing projects in four rural residential subdivisions. Those areas include Crystal Creek Acres, Morgan’s Mountain Estates, Richmond Hill Estates, and South of Arthur Lane.
