Drugs and weapon seized during search of rural Fairview property

A Fairview man is in custody following a search warrant being executed on a rural property near the community.

Peace River and Fairview RCMP detachment members, with assistance from the Western Alberta Crime Reduction unit, Police Dog Service, and Emergency Response Team, conducted the search on February 9th.

They seized 21.9 grams of suspected cocaine, 45 grams of psilocybin, as well as a loaded, sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun, and shotgun and handgun ammunition.

Twenty-three-year-old Devin Reardon has a February 27 court date in Peace River, where he will answer to a total of seven charges, including:

• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
• Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
• Careless use of a firearm
• Careless storage of a firearm
• Possession of a controlled substance
• Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
