Power outages in Grande Prairie

UPDATE: The ATCO outages map says the power is back on for all customers in Grande Prairie except those impacted by a small pre-planned outage.

UPDATE: ATCO says there are currently three different power outages in Grande Prairie.

One that started just before 1 pm today is still impacting over 3500 customers in several areas, including downtown. ATCO calls this an unplanned trouble call.

The power came back on at 20 to 4 this afternoon at our studios after being out since about 10 to 1.

The original time for the power to be back on was 3 pm

Two other outages are affecting customers in and near the west side of the city.

Causes are under investigation. ATCO did not say how many customers were affected.

The estimated time for the power to be back on for one affecting customers to the northwest is 4 pm while it is 430 for one to the southwest.

ATCO says a power outage in Grande Prairie is affecting 4217 customers.

The estimated time for the power to be restored is 3 pm.

It started at 12:47 pm on Wednesday.
