Major fundraiser for Pregnancy Care Centre rapidly approaching

The “Together We Shine” Gala in support of the Pregnancy Care Centre of Grande Prairie is set for Saturday, March 4, at the Pomeroy Hotel.

Executive Director Beverley Rose-Robbiard says the event is one of their biggest fundraisers.

“We have a nice dinner and program. We show some videos at the Gala of interviews we have done with our clients about their experience here and what that has meant to them, and how that support has helped them. As well as some interviews that we have done with our volunteers.”

There will also be a silent auction as part of the evening’s festivities

Rose-Robbiard adds they are 100 per cent funded by the community.

“We service clients that come in with unexpected pregnancies, looking for some support. We have a non-judgmental environment, and we serve every one of any age, any race, that comes in from all walks of life.”

Their services include education, information on local doctors, and courses.

Rose-Robbiard adds they also have a clothing room for expecting mothers.

“It is for clients who are wanting to parent and need some help. There are also lots of great resources within the community. Our clothing room includes donated clothes, maternity clothes, diapers, wipes, and all of those great things that are important for parenting.”

All of the services are provided free of charge to their clients.

The Pregnancy Care Centre currently has over 200 active clients and welcomed 19 babies in 2022.
