Grande Prairie to host 2025 Special Olympics Alberta games
Grande Prairie has been awarded the 2025 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games.
Set for July 11-13 of that year, the event is expected to attract over 1,000 athletes from across the province to Swan city.
The Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games are made up of ten sports, including 10-pin bowling, soccer, golf, basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, bocce, swimming, softball, powerlifting, and athletics.
This is not the first time that the provincial Special Olympics have come to our city, as Grande Prairie previously hosted the winter games back in 2015.
