County Council Highlights: March 13

County of Grande Prairie Council met on Monday.

They rescheduled three meetings:

The September Committee of the Whole Meeting will now take place on September 19, 2023,
The December Committee of the Whole Meeting will now take place on December 12, 2023,
Council Interim Budget Meetings will now take place on December 13, 14 and 15, 2023.

A new Double-A Triaxle Fifth Wheel Trailer, with a price tag of $23,995, has been authorized for purchase to replace an aging trailer. The piece of equipment is coming from Keddie’s Trailers.

Council had an appointment with Ovintiv Canada on the development of sour gas wells and pipelines in the Pipestone and Birch Hills areas in 2023.

The development map shows proposed wells and lines as follows:

South of Highway 43, west of Wembley,
Northeast of La Glace, north of Highway 59,
Between Highways 723 and 724, north of Highway 43 between Wembley and Beaverlodge,
North of Bezanson, along Highway 733.

The County Annual Road Tour for Council and county staff also was approved for July 11 & 12, 2023.

The next regular Council Meeting will take place on Monday, March 27. The next Committee of the Whole Meeting will take place on Thursday, March 16.
