Planning to begin soon for new Peace Wapiti Academy
Peace Wapiti Publi School District has been given the green light to begin the planning phase of a new high school north of Grande Prairie.
The district has received planning funding from the province, which will allow them to do work such as site analysis and scope development activities.
Once completed, the new high school will replace the existing Peace Wapiti Academy, which is currently approaching 100 per cent capacity.
It will continue to serve high school students moving in from both Harry Balfour and Whispering Ridge Community schools in Grande Prairie, as well as Penson school in Grovedale, Bezanson school, and Clairmont Community school.
