Storm season ends on home ice

The 2022-23 Alberta Junior Hockey League season has ended for the Grande Prairie Storm.

The Storm lost 4-1 at home to Whitecourt Thursday night.

The Wolverines completed a 4-0 opening-round sweep with the win.

Spencer Rheaume of Beaverlodge is a forward with Whitecourt. He had an assist in the clinching game and a total of four helpers in the series.

Whitecourt is the first North Division team to advance to the next round.

Sherwood Park and Fort McMurray are tied 2-2, as are Bonnyville and Lloydminster.

Game 5 in both series will be played in Sherwood Park and Bonnyville respectively.

Spruce Grove had an opening-round bye.

In the South Division, Okotoks swept Camrose 4-0 in the first round.

Drumheller leads Canmore 3-1. Blackfalds leads the Calgary Canucks 3-1. Drumheller and Blackfalds host Game 5 Friday night.

Brooks has a first-round bye.
