The County Wheat Kings are in Fort St. John Friday for Game 1 of the Northwest Junior Hockey League final.

They were the top two teams in the standings this season with the first-place Huskies finishing with 77 points, 10 more than the second-place Wheat Kings.

Face-off will be at 8 PM BC time.

Falher beat Dawson Creek 5-2 last night in Game 3 of the North Peace Hockey League final.

The game was played in Peace River because the SARDA Agricultural Trade Show is being held in the Falher Arena.

The Canucks lead the series 2-1

Game 4 Saturday, also in Peace River. Game time is 8:30 PM.

Minor Hockey

Two Grande Prairie Minor Hockey teams have playoff games this weekend.

The Boston Pizza U13 AA1 Storm are playing Leduc.

Game 1 is Friday night at 7:15 at the Design Works Centre South rink.

Game 2 is set for 12:15 PM Saturday in the same rink with Game 3 if needed is scheduled for 11:30 AM Sunday at Design Works Centre North.

The Boston Pizza U17 AAA Storm are in Edmonton Saturday for Game 2 of their playoff series with the Maple Leaf Athletic Club.

The Storm lost Game 1 8-4 at home Thursday.

If a Game 3 is needed, it will be played Sunday starting at 4 PM in the Chris McMillan rink at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.
