Grande Prairie goaltender wins ACHA national championship

A Grande Prairie native helped backstop the Minot State University Beavers to an American Collegiate Hockey Association national title on Tuesday night.

Jake Anthony made 19 saves as the top ranked Beavers shut out Adrian University 1-0 to win the third Murdoch Cup in the school’s history.

The 24-year-old Anthony was a sophomore at Minot State University this season.

He posted a 21-3 record with 4 shutouts and a 1.84 goals against average during the regular season, and went 4-0 with 2 shutouts in the playoffs.
