Identity Film Camp returns to Grande Prairie over Spring Break

A free, Indigenous-led Workshop Youth Film camp will be coming to the Grande Prairie Live Theatre over spring break.

This will be the second time Identity Film Camp will be in the Peace, as they last held a workshop in July 2022.

Taking place from April 11-14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the camp aims to bring together a diverse group of youth, aged 12 to 17, by collaborating with each other and professional facilitators to create a live comedy production.

Len Morrisette Owner of co-presenter CIA Solutions said in a release, “We hope that this camp will inspire them to pursue their passion for filmmaking and live streaming, and open their eyes to the many opportunities that exist in the film and digital media industry.”

Youth will have access to state-of-the-art equipment, software, and mentorship from industry professionals, allowing them to be ‘hands-on’ with the whole project, from filming, directing, editing, and more.

The end result will have campers showcasing their comedy productions to a virtual audience, through live-stream.
