County of Grande Prairie spring road bans in effect April 3

Starting April 3, the County of Grande Prairie will have a road ban in effect on all gravel roads due to the spring thaw.

The bans will be in place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with all gravel roads being set at 75 per cent axle weight unless otherwise posted.

This is a common practice in Alberta, as municipalities and the province put in road bans to protect important infrastructure during construction, maintenance, or seasonal conditions, such as thawing.

County motorists are encouraged to contact the County Road Ban Information line at 780-513-3964 for daily road ban updates and information.
