PWPSD approves new capital plan list

Trustees from the Peace Wapiti Public School Division board have approved their 2024-2027 Capital plan, with a couple of projects returning to the list after already being on their 2021-23 Capital list.

Once again, a replacement for the near-capacity Peace Wapiti Academy tops the list, much like it did the last time.

The difference this time though is that funding for the planning stage of the project, which will be built north of Grande Prairie, was included in the most recent provincial budget.

Modernization of Bonanza school, which was also included in the 2021-23 capital plan, is on the list again this time as the number four priority for the district.

Sandwiched in between those two projects is a new K-8 school north of Grande Prairie in the Whispering Ridge area and a new Grade 9-12 school east of Grande Prairie.
