Stompede WPCA tarp auction totals over $500,000

The 44 tarps included in the 2023 Stompede tarp auction for the World Professional Chuckwagon Association sold for a total of $514,650.

That is $143,600 higher than the 2022 auction.

The auction took place at a gala held Saturday night at Evergreen Park’s TARA Centre.

The top seller of the night was the tarp for Rae Croteau Jr’s wagon. It went for $30,000 to Cinch Oilfield Hauling Ltd.

Grande Prairie’s Chanse Vigen had the second highest selling price on the night with $23,000 from Sundown Oilfield Services Ltd.

The 2023 edition of Stompede is set for May 31 to June 4 at Evergreen Park.

The next tarp auction will be for the Calgary Stampede. It will be held April 13.
