The provincial government has recognized eleven organizations and individuals in Alberta with prestigious awards for improving safety within their communities.

The 32nd Annual Alberta Community Justice Awards ceremony took place on March 31 in Taber.

The awards honour Albertans that have found ways to prevent crime and promote restorative justice in their area.

Recipients received awards in four categories – Emerging Excellence, Partnerships and Collaboration, Innovation, and Service Enhancement.

Of the eleven awards handed out, Peace River Constable Julie-Ann Strilaiff received a Partnerships and Collaboration Award.

Const. Strilaiff is the Indigenous liaison for the Peace River RCMP and Duncan’s First Nation. She facilitates communications between the community members, elected officials, and band administration on police matters of importance to that community.
