Apr 12, 2023 | 3:00 PM
As the weather continues to get warmer and bears awake from their winter hibernation, the County of Grande Prairie wants to help make sure residents are “Bear Smart”
They are hosting a BearSmart Outdoor Safety Course next Wednesday. It will be led by Courtney Hughes of the Government of Alberta.
It costs $5 to take part. Those attending will learn the difference between black and grizzly bears, and the use of bear deterrents and other strategies in order to reduce conflicts between bears and humans.
The course will take place from 6 – 7:30 pm next Wednesday at the Wellington Resource Centre in Clairmont.
