City hosting Neighborhood Association Engagement Session

Apr 24, 2023 | 1:40 PM

The city is inviting the public to a Neighborhood Association Engagement Session on May 10.

Taking place at Centre 2000, this engagement session is being held with the goal of providing information to the public on how to create their own associations, as well as re-vitalize current associations still running in the city.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a release, “We want to provide residents with the tools needed to create their own neighborhood associations with confidence.”

The city would also like feedback from the public regarding neighborhood amenities, evaluating the current amenities available to residents, as well as what people would like to see added.

Feedback can be provided by either attending the engagement session, which runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on May 10, or online by clicking here.

Mayor Clayton said in the same release, “ Neighborhood associations play an important role in making Grande Prairie an exceptional place to live, learn, work, and play. All members of the community are invited to come to the engagement session to provide feedback, learn more about Neighborhood Associations, or both.”

Neighborhood associations are registered societies run by volunteers and a board of directors, who act as advocates on behalf of their neighborhoods.
