Local football players vie for spots on provincial teams

Six kids from the Peace region have been invited to final selection camps for team Alberta’s U18 men’s and women’s football teams.

Final camp for the men’s team goes May long weekend in Red Deer, and will include receiver Mackale Neba, offensive lineman Nicolas Pierce, and defensive lineman Phoenix Fai all from St Joe’s and running back Ange Mian from Grande Prairie Composite.

Meanwhile the women’s camp is set for June 3-4 in Calgary, and will include Jacey and Kaley Boucher of Peace River.

Both final teams will compete in Football Canada National U-18 championships this summer.
