Several candidates have already been confirmed to run locally in the May 29 Provincial Election.

Both Grande Prairie ridings will see new MLAs elected after both Tracy Allard and Travis Toews decided to not seek re-election.

In Grande Prairie, Nolan Dyck for the UCP and Kevin McLean for the NDP are the only confirmed candidates to date, while Dustin Archibald will run for the NDP in GP-Wapiti, against Brooklyn Biegel for the Independent Party of Alberta, and Ron Wiebe for the UCP.

In Central Peace-Notley, Todd Loewen seeks re-election for the UCP, going up against Rodney Bowen for the Independent Party of Alberta, Megan Ciurysek for the NDP, and Lynn Lekisch for the Alberta Party.

Finally in Peace River, Dan Williams of the UCP also seeks re-election, with Independent Conrad Nunweiler and Liana Paiva of the NDP opposing him.

Both the UCP and NDP are the only parties to have confirmed a full slate of 87 candidates so far for the election.
